Do ramshorn antennae grow back?

I had a little tank with a few ramshorns and some plants in it, and I decided to get a betta. Well, unfortunately, the betta was mean and bit off the antennae of all the ramshorns :irked:

Poor little snails, they are wandering around eating like normal except slower, I think because they lost their antennae :(

Does anyone know if they can grow back? Fortunately this only happened to 4 snails but I feel sorry for them!

The betta has been relocated by the way.. I didn't realize they were so mean! I have a ton of other ramshorns living in a separate tank and needless to say, I am keeping bettas far away from them in the future!

While we're on the subject...

Can anyone recommend what tropical breeds of fish are safe for snail antennae, and won't nip them?

In my experience mollies didn't, and I don't think guppies did either. Other than that, any other suggestions?

I have a 10 gallon aquarium with room for a few fish but I absolutely don't want the snails to get hurt again!

Any suggestions for a small fish that has a lot of character but doesn't nip snail antennae? Being pretty to look at is a bonus!
