I was just reading about red ramshorn snails and this article said that they will eat hair algae.
Has anyone found this to be the case?

Actually, I don't have much. Most of it is growing on the fake rock wall I have in there. I was just wondering if they would help control it.
I live in a log home with big windows and sky lights so both my tanks get some direct sunlight everyday :(

Ok ty. I got some red ramshorns in on some plants I bought so they were free. Any algea they eat will just be a bonus:)

Unfortunately recently I've got plenty of hair algae to go around, but I've seen a lot more ramshorn snails in my tank too recently. Correlation or causation? Who knows. I don't see them hanging round the hair algae that much, so I'm think they prefer eating other stuff more.

I have loads of hair algae in my 10g, and lots of snails as well They don't seem to slow it down any.
