Everyone says that you should quarantine your fish, but I know that some of you don't.

I don't at all. :lipssealedsmilie: I wouldn't buy a fish with ich or an obvious disease, plus I have very educated employees at the LFSs which are the only stores I buy fish from. Sure they're more expesive, but I know that they don't have any sicknesses, as the LFS puts their sick fish in a back room.

Better to know a death was not your fault than there was something you could change, for me. I didn't quarantine my first new addition and kept giving myself heart attacks. It's less stressful for everyone in this house.

I guess Davidfbt you'll learn the hard way one day.I don't care where they come from
store, friends or even my dads tanks all new fish go thru 4 week QT.

I come to realize it's very important to quarantine; I introduced some itchy parasites to some of my fish in my main tank. Right now, it's basically the heat and salt

Reputable dealers and knoledgable employees do not mean the fish are healthy. I have to much time, money and effort involved to risk any tank to a disease. QT..4 wks minimum.

I never have in the past and never had any problems...but will be now, gill flukes, ugh.

I've recently converted to a new lfs. Takes 30 mins to get to but is so worth it! They quaranteen their fish for 6 weeks before they put the fish out for sale and if there is ANY sign of illness they take the whole tank back through to QT until the sickness has cleared so I don't have to put them through a QT.
