Do you have any famous relatives?

I have a 2nd or 3rd cousin who was in alot of western movies, but I hate them and can never remember the guys name. One of the movies is always on tv and if I'm with my dad he has to remind me that we are related to the guy, like I haven't heard the story a hundred times already :D !! Its become a "I used to have to walk 20 miles to school" kind of story

my cousin is friends with this dude who met this other guy who has a neighbor who (get this, you are gonna freak) knows a guy's brother that once was in the presence of Sean Connery....

iorion girl, have you ever been to de? theres an awesome dupont home there telling the sordid story about the dupont fortune and family...its called winterthur, it was actually one of the homes owned by ..henry? dupont i think! my mom works for the dupont co. so we toured it like 700 times!

Nope. When Donny died, my aunt sold the property they'd built in ME, and I know the rest of the family is...Not really on friendly terms with her. His side of the family is the Ross side. There was a lot of bitterness when he died--my aunt was his third wife. She still lives in the house he bought in Vail CO, and I have been there. It's a really nice place--more stairs than I want for my old age, though!

I'm a direct descendent of Daniel Morgan's brother.

No idea who that is, eh?

He was the general that led the American Colonists to defeat Banastre Tarleton’s battle-hardened force of British regulars at the Battle of the Cowpens.

The historic battle that is considered the turning of the revolutionary war in the colonist's favor.

Another no name ancestor who was part of Steven F Austin's originial 300 to settle in what is now Texas.

That's all I've got.

But my wife is the direct descendent of Stephen Vincent Benet who wrote "The Devil and Daniel Webster".

tomm don't be mean to Irishmen! I'm Irish myself! They are awesome! I wish I had their accent...

Uumm, I wasn't being mean to Irishmen. I'm Irish too FWIW. My comment was that Sir William of Orange is not exactly a friend of the Irish. He was the man who invaded Ireland and brought it under English control.

oh! poo him then!..lol!:D

my husband is related to William the Conqueror and Stephen Gardiner, Bishop of Winchester during Henry the 8th, he wasn't a big supporter of all of Henry's divorces and such but he knew when to keep his trap shut for self preservation ;)
I'm related to the Burch family, the one that own's Burch Oil in southern Maryland, other than that it's anybody's guess

I'm related to John Hancock on my mothers side. and I think I had some relatives on my Father's side come over on the Mayflower...
