Love it. Unagi is awsome, but any sashimi, smoked or pickeled fish nigiri is good, and I like a lot of maki aside from overly american stuff like california rolls (cream cheese is blasphemy). Good sushi is completly differnt from grocery store/buffet line sushi, its like night and day. even very good sushi is far differnt from decent sushi in texture and flavor, and then if you add in high grade ingrediants like toro and aboloni, its a completly diffent experiance. The good stuff is not cheap, but its worth it. fresh is always the best, but if your like me and in the middle of the continent, theres a marked differnce in quality between shipping methods. Also, if your a regular customer, tip well. they will remember it and you'll often find "specials" available that are really exceptional.

It's my love! I love regular old California rolls dipped in some savory roe. I also get spicy tuna rolls (love 'em) and recently have gotten into Unagi (eel) rolls. Now I'm hungry...thanks. :)

Why do you think some of us keep salty tanks.

I absolutely love spicy tuna rolls.. At the ONLY sushi place in this town they call it the Dakota Roll.. But I really like Sushi, Sashimi... Love it all.. Grilled Korean BBQ, Thai..

i don't know. . . . i used to really love it and ate it once or twice a week. now it seems like my tastes have turned, and even though i still try it, i usually can't eat it. maybe it's just crappy sushi - sometimes the rolls are too big and are a pain to try and eat. . . if you eat it in one bite it is too much, and if you try to cut it or take two bites it just falls apart. it also didn't help that the last time i had an eel roll, which i used to like a lot, i got a thought in my mind that "this is probably what the bichir would taste like" and i was done at that point.

I actually work at a sushi restaraunt and i love the food, too bad its so expensive. Just for the record

Sushi is fish, raw or cooked, lightly pressed on viniger rice

Sashimi is just slices of the fish with nothing else

Maki is when the fish or vegitables are rolled up in seaweed and rice (example being the nemo make someone posted earlier)

any which way you eat it, it may be the perfect food.

Thanks for the info F1shkeeper! I am glad the sushi trend has finally made it to central ohio where I live. You are right it just maybe the perfect food. I always feel so happy after I have eaten it for some reason.
