Yup, I have the 80G. My girl gave it to me for my birthday.
You have to try Motor Storm Pacific Rift....fun game.

 Nice to see you folks have some PS3's and it looks like a lot of you guys have the Xbox 360, huh? And slappy, thanks for the heads up on the game.

 Tekonus, come on man, your making me sound like a fool! +_+ It's NOT that silly of a feature at all, dude. I bought the model for a reason, that is to carry on the PlayStation 2 love <3. Heh, buy a 50$ used PS2 to play PS2/PS1 games? That's cheapskate...! I paid a lot of money back in the days for a new PS1 and PS2, man. Don't go around saying things like that.. :p: I'm a fan of the PlayStation, well, mainly PS2 because I stuck up with it for a long time. (7 years since 2002). The PS2 systems are long time favorites console to people like me and many players around the world;I'm sure the game system collectors are happy to have it in their system collection. It has a ton of great titles in the PS2 gaming library, many of the PS2 games are still widely played today. With the backwards compatibility, you can play your favorite old games in a instant, you don't need to go and plug up your old phat PS1 or PS2 to play your old games.

Besides the 60 gb PS3 having the "Emotion Engine" backwards compatibility capability, the 60 gb PS3 also features 4 USB ports and it can flash memory. The built-in multiple flash card readers on the 60 gb PS3 supports many types of memory sticks like:Memory stick pro duo, Compact flash, and SD/MMC cards. Quite remarkable I would say, marvelous. ;)

The newer models (including the 80gb and 160gb PS3) do not have "Emotion engine" thus rendering the PS3 PlayStation2less and of course, PS1less. It only has 2 USB ports, that may become a issue since you would want to charge both controllers but don't have room for an accessory such as a keyboard or the PSP, etc. Both new versions of the PS3 also lack multiple flash card readers, which is a major downfall to the newer ps3 models.

No offense, nor flames, nothing personal to you folks who bought a 80gb or a 160gb PS3 already. I'm just showing you folks the comparing & contrasting. I hope you all can enjoy what your PS3's can do for you. I know I will be enjoying mine to it's fullest with the extra features; well especially since I have so many PS2 game titles :p: (I own mostly fighting games, role-playing adventure games, don't get the wrong idea, I'm not the have-it-all PS2 serious gamer king of nerdy...;) well I guess I got a thing for fighting games, so I'm serious on the fighting side 2-Dimensional)

My recommendations to you if you want to purchase a PlayStation 3:

-For those that don't own the PS2 or PS1 with games, or those that completely have no interest in playing PS1/PS2 games, then the new 80 and 160 gb model is perfectly right for you. The new models should be pretty easy to find around local game shops like GameStop, EBgames, Gamecrazy, etc.

-For those who stuck with the PS1 and PS2 and plan to play older games while wanting to play the newest generation PlayStation 3 games out there, the 60 gb PS3 is for you. Good luck finding it locally, it's a real tough one to search for. You can try calling game shops or surf the net in search for one;you can most likely find one on the net, however, I must warn you, it will be very expensive to buy new online/locally or win online at a auction new. It is usually auctioned estimated $800-$1000 win just for a new console, it's ridiculous, I know, but people want new so it's like theirs, you know, the real owner.

You can find a Refurbished/used model at GameStop online for just around estimated $429.99 plus shipping and tax;estimated $500 shipped. Still kinda expensive, just not very expensive. They replace the parts and stuff so it looks like new, when it's really not;the system's power has already been jacked on so it's been used already, so it kinda sucks, imo;but if you really, really want to save and don't really give a darn, go for it.

:) And me? I'm a happy camper, I just bought a new PlayStation 3 for only $650 shipped from one person at ebay, he had the system in his closet sitting around since November 07', the dude's a music lover, I could tell from his email address, he only checked and verified what's in the box and never actually took the stuff out or teared into any power or plastic. I lucked out. It's being shipped to me now as we speak, well-protected (=. Good luck to you folks.

Now you all should know why this model is pretty neat to have. In my humble opinion, it is thee best PlayStation system to have if you really want to get into the PlayStation system entertainment family.

I can't wait until mine comes. I'll be playing Street Fighter like the old days;the game which I always get water blister'd from all the finger friction. And, I got the Street Fighter 4 game for only $40 when it's $56 out there =D still being shipped. I'll soon be dukein' it out with my buddies, having fun, with the competition and all. We all got our Hori real arcade sticks and buttons ;) so it's real. Research all about it if you wish.

I hope this post can be of great PlayStation 3 comparison knowledge base here in AquariaCentral.
