Do you raise snails for your puffers?

I'm trying to raise pond snails for my dwarves and got most of my ideas from this site: http://www.pufferfish.co.uk/aquaria/foods/snails.htm

The only problem is that they're not reproducing :(

I have them in a fish bowl with calcium (cuttle bone) a java fern, and I'm giving them pelleted fish food to eat. The four snails I have in there are really healthy and are getting much bigger, but they're not reproducing at all.

What can I do to get them to speed things up? Put a light over them or something? Their water is kinda cold since there's not a light on them or a heater, that may be what's slowing them down. What do you think?

Kind of ironic..... most people try to kill snails and can't ever get rid of them. I'm trying to GROW them and I can't get them to reproduce...

I have a small 7 gallon tank in the kitchen that we stocked with baby plants, guppies, 2 dozen snails( dug out of the LFS' plant tank) and ghost shrimp..
The snails get plucked out every now and then and dropped into the BW tank for the puff and the fresh tank for the loaches.
I feed them as I do the other tanks, I just dont clean the (non existant) algae

seems to work fine, it just takes a little bit of time to get the population started

I started a snail tank a while back and almost over night there was eggs all over the tank. I now have at least 100 snails in my snail tank. My Aunt has a freshwater tank that she started a year ago and bought live plants for it. Little did she know that there was snail eggs on the plants. She now has to clean the snails from her tank on a weekly basis. It's a pain in the neck for her but great foy my puffer's!

i have ramshorns in my 10 gallon tank, i noticed when the water is warmer they grow like twice as fast,

i toss abotu a dozen or 2 decent size snails in my main tank
i only red devil fry in my 10 gallon so nobody is eatin my snail eggs

My office tank has always had billions of snails. Yesterday when I got home at 2 I had with me 19 snails I'd fished from the gravel. I put about 6 in with my big crayfish and they were eaten immediately. I put a couple in with a different cray and some feeder guppies, they are still there. I put the remainder in the 5 gallonwith Float, my new dwarf puffer that keeps trying to take chunks out of a ramshorn snail that's bigger than him. Went back to work. Last night around 7 I was looking at the tanks. In the 5 gallon, adhered to the glass at various locations, were at least 6 deposits of eggs. Since it's just Float and about 6 guppy fry that are about a week old, I'm gonna assume they are snail eggs.

And that's the closest I've come to breeding the things!
