do your fish have names?

My betta is named Rigel. I'm getting and angel and a pearl gourami tomorrow and will name them Dominus ("Master") and Imperator ("Commander"). They're going to rule their new home!

Haha nice thread. Lets see:

Goldfish- Pedro (i actually got a tattoo of him, ill post sometime)
(6)dwarf puffers- team pOOfer
unknown- Mr. Stickley
platy- stanley
mollies- mama and baby
mystery snail- gary

still living section
Golden Severum- Fabio (must rename he just laid eggs)

My platies all have names as does my Angel, but all the Zebra danios just go by the imaginative name of "Zeb"

Platies:
Sunset - Rocket 2 (coloured like a Rocket ice lolly - Rocket 1 sadly passed away)
Tuxedo - James Bond
Pinepple - Chunk
Micky Mouse - Minnie
Black - Betty
Golden Wag - Carrot

Angel - Dave

I find that naming them helps me keep track of them as it's difficult to count them when they're constantly on the move

I used to name my community tank fish, but it started to get way too confusing - the pristellas, the serpaes, and the cories all look similiar. However, one of my albino cories is super small for some reason, so he's named Powder. Other than that, I have two bettas: Blue and Arlo.

I have only named my bettas. I used to name them Charlie. Then I had two in a row that died within a week of each other and I decided to name the next one a tougher name--Oscar after the fish. He's lasted over 2 years. My other betta is named Mr. Lucky because he was in a cup of water so small his fins weren't covered and I couldn't resist. He's been around for about 6 months and I don't walk past the betta set ups at Walmart anymore.

I have named most of mine:
Pair of Mickey Mouse Platys: Mickey and Minnie
Black Mollie: Mrs. Black (Mr. Black got the shimmies and died during cycle)
3 zebra danios: Larry, Curly and Moe
Brown Bullhead: Spaz
Pair of Plecos: Mr. and Mrs. Hoover
Pair of Tilapia: Spot and Spot jr.
Black Mystery Snail: Speedy

My wifes Bettas:
Sharkboy and Moonbeam

i know its not as easy to name all of the fish in a big community tank, but i'm curious as to the names of the fish that HAVE been named.

i have
wilbur (the black moor)
poseidon (comet)
bilbo (pleco)
squire (betta)

and john paul george and ringo were the names of my zebra danios. paul quit the band and died of dropsy. the rest of them were eaten.

booger (black mystery snail) and heiffer (gold mystery snail) both apparently fell victim to bilbo's case of munchies

so yeah, what are your fish's names?

Yep my blood parrots are named Eureka and Hoover, of course because their like little vacum cleaners, they suck their food down so fast! lol :)

I love this thread!
Naming is my favorite thing for some reason. I'm one of those crazies who names her cars (the Jabberwocky) and affectionately humanizes animals and inanimate objects.

2 peppered corys, Bonnie and Clyde
2 albino corys, Silas and Duckie
2 panda corys, Stinky and Bobo (random, but I just knew it when the pet store guy put 'em in the bag)
candy stripe pleco, Wonka
dwarf gourami, Priscilla, Queen of the Aquarium
upside-down cat, Ozzie
5 hatchets (named after 3 killers and 2 Buffy tVS villains - what? Hatchet sounds scary!), OJ, Manson, Buffalo Bill, Glory, and Caleb
We've still got six black skirts that haven't told me their names yet. I'm tempted to get another one just to name them the seven sins or something. Except they'd ALL have to be Gluttony, really. Little piggies.

I have lots of fish but only one has a name.
Tom the BN Pleco.

None of my fish have/had names. I am adament about not naming my fish because every time I do they seem to die on me. Honestly it's happened more times than I'd like to count. One day there fine, someone comes in and names them and boom there dead. I literally yell at people not to name fish and they think I'm nuts!
