I've been taking earthworm and plankton sticks and push them into the zucchini before dropping it in the tank. I use screwcumbers to weigh them down. :dive2:

Ive tried pleccy on cucumber, sweet potato and tonight some mange tout!
He was a bit scared of the sweet potato, had a quick suck and then flew off!
I think he likes the mange tout though (i steamed the mangetout)...

The only one in the 55g to touch the apple was an albino rainbow shark, but the snails loved it.
emmz, I also advised you to find a new home for the pleco. Anything smaller than 100+ gallons amounts to cruelty, in my opinion.

Budrecki I am in the process of searching for a new home for pleco. Have contacted many people (animal aid charities mainly).
I hate seeing fish in tanks, full stop. I need to know that he/she will go to somewhere very safe and a better environment than I can give her/him.
I have contacted "fish rescue" who will hopefully email me very soon with some good news. I worry that if I give the pleco to my lfs he/she will go to someone with even a smaller tank than the one it is presently in...and that would be awful. I care very much about the pleco and am trying to introduce it foods that it never had the chance to have in my previous workplace...You are right, it is extremely cruel being in the tank its in - however, if I hadnt taken him there is a strong possibility that he would be in this tank forever, growing and being treated dreadfully (in a residential home).
