My moms friend has a larger dog, named Lexi. She's half Boxer, half Pitbull (with possibly some dalmation) and is dog friendly. She knows how to sit, and does so even when super exited or wanting to play. She is not, however, a Cat-Friendly dog. She probably just wants to play with them, but considering her size she would probably end up hurting them if she did, and cats aren't to keen on playing with a dog. Lexi also has a bad leg, she doesn't know (or care) that she does, but she really shouldn't go up and down stairs too often.

I'm in Bridgeport, PA. If anyone wants a dog and doesn't have cats, Lexi would love a new home.

Not even a "Good Luck FF"?

I hope you find her a home! I'd take them all home if my mom would let me. :( as a tip... Older couples tend to be more interested in older, trained, dogs. :) Then they don't have to deal with training a puppy. (not true in all cases, but pretty likely) good luck!

I really hope she gets a home. She sounds like a really sweet pup, but not the one for me. I have a cat :/ I agree with homedog's tip :]

Mad, your name suits you :D

Thanks for the good wishes.

Update: Lexi still needs home. However, we confirmed that she does NOT eat cats, but does play with them by putting them in her mouth. I don't get it either :D Skipper is fine, but completely traumatized of dogs forever. Lexi came out with some pretty bad scratches. Lexi then went on to do the exact same thing as she always does, and stuck her head thugh the cat-door protecting the basement. Skipper, on the other hand, hasn't attempted to leave the basement since. So, no cats allowed with this dog :)

If anyone wants to adopt her, please say so!

Update

Well, Lexi found a home, but was then sent back... turns out her thing against cats isn't just against cats. The count of animals she's had bad encounters with is as follows:

Dog that got out of owners house, Lexi tried to bite the dogs neck. may have been fear, as the other dog was moving full speed and about the saem size as Lexi.

Dog behind fence, I didn't see it and Lexi again tried to bite.

Dog at Leci's possible home, she went after it too, which is why she's back with us.

Dog we bumped into when turning corner, didn't see it until Lexi tried to bite it. Thank god i was able to stop her, and the other guy's dog was just as aggressive, so there wasn't much space for anyone to argue.

Skipper who broke her tail and was very sick for several days after being bitten.

Hip Hop (my rabbit) who Lexi kept trying to get at when she was downstairs with us during Irene's tornado warnings.

Lexi has also strained after any dog/cat/madium sized animal she has seen or heard while on walks, or even while stuck at home.

We fear she won't be able to live with other animals and will be put down. Training attempts have failed rather completely, as she doesn't seem to get it. That or she doesn't like the food enough. I don't know. We're still looking for a one-pet home for her, but it's not going to be a forever thing, eventually she will be sent to the SPCA or other shelter.

I hate stories without happy endings.

Sorry to hear you're having a difficult time with her. She has a tough mix of breeds and should be handled by someone experienced in dog training. Though it sucks if she has to go to the SPCA at least they know what they're doing and can evaluate her temperament. If she's truly aggressive then it's better she be put down than cause serious harm to another (person or animal).
