I have had a 10g up for about 2 months now.
I currently have 2 mollies and 2 platieswho are doing very well.
I am wondering if I can put anything else in without over stocking?
If so, what would you reccomend?
you should be fine as long as the mollies and platies aren't male and female and start breeding you out of room, they can do that I'd suggest adding a few oto's (otoniculus) catfish that will eat algae from the tank sides (not algae eaters, those are different) and/or a few corydora catfish. I know many people say corydoras are a schooling fish and HAVE to be in a school but that is crap. I have a couple hundred corydoras spread through many tanks and there are just as many that prefer to stay solitary as there are that school. they are fine either way.. KYle
I try to keep 10 gallons understocked, for me it is harder to upkeep a smaller tank then a larger one.
I have never had more then 5 fish in a 10 gal at a time(unless the mollys decide to have babys) then as soon as they grow old enough they get sent to the LFS.
I'd say no more fish. You guys have seen full grown mollies right? they are big heavy bodied fish. Volume wise your looking at the equivilent of about 15 neon tetra sized fish with the four livebearers you have in ther now.
