Dragon Fish/Violet Goby plant suggestions

I'm thinking of setting up a tank for a violet goby(Gobioides broussoneti) with live plants. Is this a bad idea, I've searched around for info, but haven't found anything. I realize that it's going to be a brackish water setup, but really want a live plant set up. Any suggestions, or should I skip the plants for this one. Thanks.

those gobys would live long term with out any salt at all so try like a cup or two to a 40 gallons type ratio. That would do nicely.
Dont know about the plants wondering about them myself not so long ago.

Thanks somefinnfishy, my wife really likes them and I want to set up a 55 gal for it, but since I've found this site I've really gotten the bug to do a planted tank. Oh well, I guess I'll search around some more and see what I can find.

I don't know about the salinity requirements of a Goby. But, IME, most plants will handle salt at the ratio that somefinnfishy recommends. I have heard of people using 1 tablespoon per gallon to try to stem an ich outbreak without any ill effects to the plants. I think you would have more of issue with sensitive fish than you would with a lot of the common plants. I have never personally tried it, but you should be OK, IMO.

As long as you acclimate the plants, they should be okay. I would avoid fine leaved plants--they suffer in salt, IME. Broad leafes plants like java ferns, anubias, and african ferns will do very nicely in BW, up to about 1.012.
