I've been doing a lot of reading on the drsfostersmith/liveaquaria sites and was wondering about them. their resume's certainly LOOK impressive, but are they really experts, and can thier information be used reliabily?

Also, are they worth ordering from? while the local petco might fill some needs, I wasn't impresed with their selection (though I did like that they had a few tanks that were listed as "not for sale currently, In quarantine" which mad eem feel a little more comfortable) and theres a few species on live aquaria that could fill some niches in my plans. I also like the look of their live plants packages, which was something I really didn't find impressive at petco. Is it better to order online then trust a chain store? (I will be starting my first tank, and don't have a quarantine tank, I plan to add in a couple of stages after doing a fishless cycle)

The Doctors are one of the most reputable online sources. Feel confidant ordering whatever you want from them.

I think if they hold and ship that selection of saltwater fish/corals/inverts then the fresh must be easy as pie.

I have not ordered anything live from them, but my experience with the for parts has been outstanding.

I am considering ordering somethings to fill out my stocking, if I can't find it local.

i have ordered many times from them, never a problem. very caring about their customers. and from liveaquaria the aquatic life is top notch! definetly dont hesitate to order from them!

my husband ordered 6 fish from them a while back. none of the lfs carried rams or cories at the time (yeah, not the best selection where we live). so that was a plus already.
unfortunitly we did loose one of the 2 rams. i don't blame that on them (or us - that can happen no matter where you buy from). we just let it be because even tho they have a guarantee it's just a lot of hassle ( if i remember correctly they want you to send water and the dead fish). that might have cost almost as much as the fish itself (not sure).
anyhow, the other 5 are awesome! great quality and imho much prettier than the ones we've seen in stores since. also lots of fun watching them grow from their tiny arrival size!
i would highly recommend them and am planning on ordering from them again myself next week or so.

never ordered fish, but all sorts of fish stuff (and dog and cat:)) and they are great. Plus if you call their 800 # you get a real person most of the time. I didn't know what to say when a person answered, I was kind of dumbstruck!!!!

I have read that you can not choose the genders of the fish you buy from them though. If it wasn't for that, I'd definately order from them. May end up doing so anyway. I can't find what I want locally.
