I'm trying to ship duckweed and can't figure out how to do this. I know usually people use dampened newspaper, but since duckweed is such a small plant I feel like they would stick to it and be hard for the receiver to get them off. So any tips? It's shipping locally, so it doesn't have to be all set for a trip cross-country or anything. Thanks

Well... tbh, I would just get a large bag, fill it a little with water, then pack in the duckweed. They are pretty unkillable (at least, we can't kill it here) so it should be cool that way. The receiver will need a bucket and a net (submerge bag, which lets the duckweed off, then use net to scoop it out and transfer to tank). Plus, fme, the plant will easily come off of something if you completely submerge it, so plastic bag would be a good submergible choice. But then, I've never shipped duckweed, so I can't confirm anything.

That's what I was thinking originally, just a little water in a plastic bag, tied up and surrounded by newspaper for insulation, it's only a 2-day trip in the box. I wanted to see if anyone else thought that :) it's going into a pond I guess, so she should be able submerge it easily. Thanks

I never had shipped anything live before. But if I have to I would use a wet paper towel and just roll or fold it to fit a sandwich ziplock bag. Ship it in a bubble envelope to save money. Just make sure the weather is not hot.

I already have the box and we already found shipping price and she's happy with it, so I'm just looking for how to ship that way, thanks tho, I'll keep that in mind

I got mine in a plastic bag with almost no moisture in it and it has been doing well in my tank. So I believe you can dry it out and ship without a problem as seeing it will take off once you throw it in water.

Flat rate box put about a 1/4 -1/2 cup of water in a fish bag and then put as much duckweed as you want. Seal it up and double bag it.
