about a week ago i noticed that 1 of my gourami's have some swelling and reddness underneath one of it's gills, and dyed the next day. then i investigated the rest of the tank and noticed that another gourami had the same looking redness and swelling underneath of its tailfin. it then dyed 2 days later. now i notice that another gourami has a little red dot on its face that looks similar to the others, its not very bad yet, although it will happen soon i predict. it is only on my gourami's, although in my other tank a molly is showing the first signs of popeye, and i do transfer mollies from tank to tank frequently. could both tanks be infected? should i treat both just to be safe, and what should i use, since i dont know whats affecting the gourami's? i plan on going to my LFS today and buying the meds necessary.

thanks to everyone here at AC for all of your help!!!!

First thing I would probobly do is test your water.....but yeah you might have to treat both tanks to be on the safe side.

I had this happen to my dwarf gouramis also....they died within a week even after I treated for who knows what. After that all of my tetras died. Everything else was fine (platys and corys). I don't know what it was but I'd sure like to know. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Test your water ASAP and make sure nothing is going on. Do you "transfer" the mollys b/c of breeding? It is always a little risky, b/c then you can't pinpoint if they or something else started the problem!!
