:( I had a sailfin pleco that died this morning. He had been acting weird for a few weeks. He was five years old. My son was fairly attached to him. I want to replace him with a smaller version.

Can I have any recommendations for a dwarf pleco and pic if convenient??

TIA!!

:)

Gal? Gallon? 55 in my sig.

I know a rather interesting looking (but sometimes rather expensive) pleco...

medusa, google and images, its really quite nice :)

Personally, I'd swap the Chinese algae eaters for a bristlenose pleco in a second. The CAE's aren't actually much use for algae control, and become quite nasty, aggressive fish as they grow larger. BN pleco's are never aggressive, and will keep the tank virtually spotless regarding algae control.

I like my Clown Plec

- they dont get over 3-4"
- you can keep a number in the same tank, youmightget away with 4-6 in that tank.

However, they feed on Bogwood.

I originally got them mixed up with Butterfly plec which is similar but not so dark in colouration - got to watch agression between them if you want more than one though

I know what a CAE is and I've never had a cleaner tank. I want to get a dwarf pleco.

Rubberlip Plecos don't get that big, either (about 5 inches). And they are cheap and easily available.
