dwarf puffer in a 2 gal

I think 10 gallons is sufficient for both of them, but two gallons is to small. Dwarf puffers are a little quarlesum(sp?) and need more territory.

You could get away with a heavily planted 5 gallon for 2 dwarfs, but they create a lot of waste due to eating live food and will need lots of water changes.

The only fish that can really go in a 2 gallon tank is our friend the betta.

Ahem... ;)
Heterandria Formosa (least killiefish), It is one of the smallest live bearers and is the smallest fish in the USA. They are very hardy and do well in small planted tanks such as a 5 or a 2.5 plant tank. I have 2 colonies in a 5 gallon and a 2.5 (I keep 7 in this tank) . They are a very active and curious fish and prolific livebearer.

I have still never seen any of those cool little fish in any pet store I have been in. Do you have to order them or are they just available in certain parts of North America?

Heterandria Formosa

These guys can be found here, but they are not very popular. Tiny fish are not to popular, people tend to gravitate to bigger fish. I hear they are very popular in Europe though.
I ordered mine online and they are wild caught but adapted very well to aquarium living and now beg for feedings.
After trying to hunt the down, and getting my colony, I found out that my local fish club had members who had colonies also. So it might be worth the chance to check out your local fish club and see if they have auctions.. you never know what you may find.
