Hello,

I have a quick question concerning ghost shrimp and dwarf puffers. I have been reading several posts that say you can put dwarf puffers and ghost shrimp into the same tank. Some have said that the dwarf puffers will eat the ghost shimp, my question however is about the ghost shrimp eating the puffers or injuring them? I just bought some ghost shrimp and was planning on putting a few into my betta tank and a few into my dwarf puffer tank (10 gal). I asked for some smaller sized ones and there are two that are of a little larger size. I don't really care if the puffers eat them, but I wanted to be sure that the slightly larger shrimp won't pose a threat to my puffers.

Thanks!:)

one of my ghost shrimp jumped onto my dwarf puffers once. it was crazy to watch.

i think he was in fact DEFENDING himself. He was dead a week later. poor guy.

I've never had luck with keeping ghost shrimp long term in my planted tank, whether i had DP's in it or not.

Then I started keeping Amano shrimp, and they've lived peacefully with a pair of DP's (1m, 1f) for about half a year now. Then again, my DP's have a constant supply of snails, so they have no reason to attack my shrimp.

Well I tried two fairly large ghost shrimp in my 10 gal dwarf puffer tank and one of them didn't make it past two hours. The other one I decided to take out and is now being housed with my betta. My betta doesn't pay a bit of attention to them. At least my babies got a good snack and had some fun!
Thanks for the input!:)
