I'd like to get a couple of male Indian Dwarf Puffers (Tetraodon travancoricus) for my tank at work. I can't find any LFS that can get them. The biggest fish store I know of that's reasonably close is Fish Town USA in Flushing, said they haven't gotten any for at least a year and a half. Does anyone know any place in Manhattan, Queens or Nassau counties where I could get these little guys?

I don't want to have them shipped. I'll be leaving these guys unattended during weekends and I think the cost of shipping would make them unreasonably expensive.

sorry.. cant help you. I know a LFS that has a TANK full of them and selling them for 1.50 each. They are each 1/4 an inch in size. Seems like a Neat fish to add to a 10 gallon or smaller. I did some research on these guys and it seems you cant mix males. So, maybe one male and MANY females? They are also said to be one of the most aggressive puffers out there for FW. They dont tolerate salt BTW.

Males are fine, if there aren't any females around to rile them up. If you get females and males, they boys are abusive buggers. At least, that was my experience.
