easiest fish to breed/spawn?

Breeding cherry shrimps are easy just buy around 20 of them and then after a few days or months you will see eggs on the shrimps backs

Are the babies eaiser to raise then ghost shrimp babies? i bought 4 ghost shrimp and 3 had eggs under them and 2 released lil mini shrimp but i doubt any survived the night and i even put a dozen new born shrimp in my 1 week old platy fry tank and even those things killed them!! So i dunno what to think about shrimp unless those cherry shrimp are better then ghost shrimp!

cherry's are very easy. The ghost shrimp babies require brackish/marine conditions to survive until adulthood, cherry's don't. Throw 20 cherrys in a tank and a few months later you'll have a colony as 100+ so long as there's enough plants to support them all.

I have always wondered about another kind of shrimp besides ghost shrimp, i have always had them> I always like to get them to help with the clean up so there is not as much to vac up and so excess food doesnt rot! Thats why i love the ghost shrimp! Do the cheery shrimp do as good as job or better then ghost shrimp in cleaning and are they just a over all better shrimp to have then ghosts? I have never seen any agression in my ghost shrimp except i seen one eat a poor little platy fry before but that fry must have not been the brightest!! How are cherry shrimp in a small fish community aquarium? When i say small i mean like platies dwarf gouramis and nothing really over 6 inches.

I've never bred cories, but I read, on another forum, that someone had taken a male and female cory, put them in a separate tank, added ice (didn't say how much) and the next day the tank was covered with eggs. As for my experience, it's all with livebearers.

Cherry shrimp at full size are no more than an inch long - males are less - so I'd say they're likely to get eaten by platys and gouramis and any other fish over 2 or 3 inches. Babies are considerably smaller, and even a subadult guppy could eat them. I've had cherries with guppy fry and juvies, but have always taken the fish out by the time they were an inch long. I've been told that they will probably work well with neon tetras, but even then the shrimp should get established and breeding before the neons are introduced to the tank. That was my plan with the tank described, but unfortunately most of my shrimp died in the first couple of weeks - didn't change the water soon enough. I was left with only 3, and apparently all female, because I saw saddles but no berries. I ended up with one really bright and active female about an inch long, but she died recently - maybe just from age, as I'd had her for maybe a year, or maybe she died of loneliness being the only shrimp in the tank.

I have never lost a shrimp by being ate by my fish. I lost a crab once because the fish must have knew that it was molting and they had a crab dinner! Are cherry shrimp smaller then ghost shrimp? Id say my smaller ghost is about a inch and the 3 bigger ones are about a inch and a half give or take a little bit but my fish dont ever mess with them or eat their body parts, even the dwarf gouramis dont mess with them and they can be very territoral!!

speaking of shrimp, i just witnessed my ghost shrimp attack and eat my smaller platys tail.. granted the platy is sick and trying to poop out callamanus worms. Wonder if they just attacked it cuz they knew it was week! I have never ever seen a ghost shrimp do that before!! Kinda felt like smashing them after that! But they clean up well and all the other fish are bigger and could eaisly turn on them. Could just take out everything and just a bare tank and just my gouramis and see how they like being ate! Kinda makes me angry! But anyways about the cherry shrimp, how much do they cost? Does any breeder sell them on here that wont charge outragous shipping costs? I prolly would be interested in buying some if the price is right! The goes with kribs too cuz i just got a few 20-30 gallon tanks i would like to turn into just a krib or ram tank but i dont know where to get kribs where im at!
