I think if I did it I would just do an air stone. My dad would be pissed if he found out i was running like f filters

Why? Filters are much better. If you just do an airsont you'll have to do daily water chances.
oh, i didn't think about that. A filter puts air in the water along with filtering. Can the filters be undersized though?
Yes, but I don't see why you'd want that. A large sponge filter will do a great job. They're also cheap.
