i just got an eclispe 3 tank and top , it had everything but the filter part of the sysem.

woudl i be better off ditching the whoe top and just going with an aftermarket light and filter?

i checked online and to replace all the filter parts is about ~60 dollars from marineland.

i can get a decent filter for that price right ?

and light kits are pretty cheap too right ?

thanks for any guidance / direction.

The filter system is supposed to be included with the tank. I would return it to the store you got it from and exchange it for one that has the filter system. Someone probably took it out to replace their old/damaged/missing one and the store maybe never removed the one you bought from the sales floor.
The Eclipse tanks are great tanks! I have a 3 gallon with a betta and he's thriving and I've never had a problem with the tank either!
Just go to the store and chnage it out for another one and just make sure you open the box and make sure everything is inside :dive2:

LoL :D Okay I'm on the same page as you now.
Well if the tanks able to have a different type of hood/filter on it then sure go ahead, but most eclipse tanks are made to where only the eclipse hoods can fit onto it.
Give it a shot though, its worth a try.
