Are there any aquarium plants humans can eat? Any large, fast growers?

Well, I would be planting them in a spare 55g with nothing but the plants to harvest.
I read Watercress is good and super healthy. Where can I find bulk seeds though...

With the diseases fish bring into your fish tank I don't know if I would want to eat anything in there.
many people eat fish. they could have diseases, and some people do get sick, but how do you prevent lettuce and other greens from having bad bacteria? you wash your greens first, before you eat them.

here are a few I found that are common aquarium plants

Duckweed is an important high-protein food source for waterfowl and also is eaten by humans in some parts of Southeast Asia (as khai-nam). Sometimes it is cited as an overlooked source for application as a food for a hungry world that produces more protein than soybeans.

Bacopa (Bacopa caroliniana) - lemony leaves; used as a seasoning; also called water hysso

Pennywort (Hydrocotyle spp.)- leaves; raw; medicinal for many purposes such as arthritis

In my paludarium I have several edible plants... Water Lettuce, Water Mint, Hydrocotyle, Hottuynia. I had water Celery (also edible) but after taking over it crashed and died. :(

I've only tried eating the Hydrocotyle out of all of them. The Hottuynia is supposed to taste like fish.

Actually, the only emersed plants I have in my paludarium that ARN'T edible is the Mondo grass and Impatiens (yes, Impatiens grow great in a paludarium slightly emersed).
