Eel grass

I have lots of eel grass in my small pond outside, can I use some in my 55 gal tank inside? I cleaned it well but did not disinfect yet.

Clean it up of any potential hazard pests (leeches, damselfly/dragonfly larvae) and yes it can be used. Itll appreciate root tabs in the substrate unless you use special substrate for plants already.

Expect some of it to melt when first added to the tank.

It goes by the name vallisneria in the hobby as well, its often sold under this name for aquarium use

Thanks, will give good inspection especially for baby snails like ramshorn.
