how often should one clean out there canister filter, and how often should the media inside be replaced (roughly,...... i understand that it gets replaced basically when it has disintegrated :))

same goes for lights and heaters.

how often would one replace there T6 tube? how often do you maintain you heaters and how?

On the 2213 heres your answer:

I've never seen the question about lights posted before, but I would guess for optimum quality replace once every one to two years, based on experience from work (talking about fluorescents here).

Heaters - depends on quality...cheap ones that come with complete setups I would replace as soon as you can afford as they are poor. however a stelth should last a life time - put the heater almost horizontal along the bottom of the aquarium

If your tank is heavily planted and not heavily stocked you don't have to clean the filter too often. I use a 2217 on my 75 gallon (in sig) and only clean it when I notice it is slowing down. I use fiber pillow stuffing in it and only replace that and rinse the sponges. Usually not more often than every 3 months in my tank.
I use T-8 bulbs and replace them about every 9 months to a year (cheap enough if get the daylight delux bulbs at Home Depot).
Heaters: I just clean anything off the glass and check the thermastat by turning on and off and seeing if it still works ok.
