Eheim 2222

Hello to everyone. What do you think about Eheim 2222? I have never used a canister filter, so I am having a really hard time choosing one. Is it worth the money? How often do I need to change media? Any information is highly appreciated.
I have 29G planted tank.

EHEIM makes some of the best products for this hobby, I don't think you can go wrong with Eheim filters, but I think the ECCO line is good for your 29 gal planted tank 2222 might be overkill, as for the media I never replace mine and never had any problem with it for 3 years, just wash half of them maybe once a year is enough.
