eheim bio media verses k1 in my canister filter

just ordered an eheim 2217 filter and i'm wondering if the k1 media i have would be better than the bio media that comes with the filter would be better. suggestions please and thanks in advance!

Given that a great many people in the USA won't know what K1 filter media is, here is a link:

All I can offer is an opinion of sorts.
The media that comes with Eheim filters is excellent.
K1 used in a moving bed filter, is excellent.
I see no reason it wouldn't work well in an Eheim, but... you should be getting media with your 2217.

As per that site: K1 media is proven over 10 yrs. I have classic eheims older than that. The media only changed once. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I would stick with the media it comes with.

I think Eheim makes the best canister media. I would definitely use the Substrate Pro.
