My Eheim canister filter 2015 is leaking at the base where the elbow goes into the canister before the connection for the tubing. Is there a washer that goes in somewhere? Any suggestions as how to fix it?

Tthe loach said, there is an o-ring that is on the elbow fitting and it's possible it either got damaged OR you don't have the fitting screwed in enough to compress the o-ring. You will either need to drain the filter of water to replace the o-ring OR if you have the Q.D. on the hoses, just shut them off and you may be able to tighten the fitting one turn after tilting the filter for access. I prefer to drain the filter and check then tighten.
