Quick question. My filstar had a quick disconnect where you could disconnect the hoses from the canister and carry the canister away. Does the cascade have this?

So I’m reading a lot of people talking about bypass on their cascades. Are you dealing with this issue freshyfresh
I can get a filstar xp xl for 200.00.
They were made by Rena back in the early 2000s but I see api owns them now. Still a good filter?

There is room between the rectangular baskets and canister housing on the cascade canisters, so there might be a small amount of bypass, but the baskets themselves stack and pretty much seal together. Really, I don't think you can go wrong with any make/model. My though is, once you start going beyond that ~$200 range, may as well go with an Oase, or a higher end Eheim or Fluval.
