Hi,
Yesterday my 2233 (I believe) started to make a rattling noise. At first it sounded like there was some debris in the pump interfering with the impeller.
After opening it, I saw, what turned out to be, a spikey, white rubber ball in the outlet pipe. I ignored it at first (and accidently let it fall into the garbage disposal
).
The shaft and impeller seem to be in good condition, but the impeller has a lot of axial play on the shaft and seems to jump around when the power is turned on, causing the rattling noise.
When I looked at the parts schematic, I saw the ball and a cage shown (#7481020). Mine is obviously worn (I didn't see the cage), but I don't know where they go, or if they are causing the problem.
Perhaps there is another part missing.
Anyone have any experience with this filter.
Thanks for your help,
Tom
