Been eyeing a Pro 2 2026 for my 30 gallon fresh water tank but am now seeing the Pro 3 250 gph (2170?) for a price cheaper than the Pro 2. Anyone have an opinion on which is better?

I see that the Pro 3 has only two media baskets but has more inlets for the hoses. I'm leaning toward the Pro 3 unless I hear otherwise. Thanks!

I have a Pro II and I love it BUT the newer Eheims look nice! If money isn't an issue why not go with the latest?

The pro II is awesome. A few reports of problems with the O-Ring but that's it. Mines been going for over 2 years now. Sad they just stopped making pro II's only pro 3's now.

The new Pro III's are cheaper anyways. 2071 is $142, 2073 is $162 and 2075 is $182 at cost. (Go complain to your retailers now for a better price.) LOL

Have had my 2026 for 4 years now, runs great. I did have a problem with oring but pretty sure that was because we moved and i had the tank empty for several months, i think it just dried out. New seal and its been great. Its a great filter.

I'm a fan of the Pro2s, but with that Marine depot deal, I would definitely try a Pro3 out. Plus you can dial down flow-rates too if its too much for a 30 gal.
