So having some issues getting my eheim pro 3 2080 to work correctly. I had it set up, with in line CO2 reactor, for a good 8 months with no issues. Removed the reactor to get better flow rates and cleaned the canister about a month ago. Then, 2 weeks ago (ish) the thing just stops working (I noticed because my tank turned all cloudy). I have done everything I can find on the internet to get the thing to work with no avail.

This is what I know:
The intake / output seems to prime fine. That is, I empty the canister and output line, let the intakes fill the canister (which they both do fine) and turn it on (all per the instruction manual). Once I switch it on and press the prime button nothing happens. If I hold the prime button down it seems to work fine, water flows out the output, but when I release it nothing, not even a trickle. There does seem to be a little air in the line, but I don't know how its getting there as I bleed the lines (take the quick connector thing out and let it flow into a bucket for a moment while still connected to the tank, water fills the lines completely).

Any suggestions would be grand. I have tried with the canister pre-filled, emtpy, lines bled of all water, just the output bled of water, without the filter material in there... I about the throw the thing out the window.

I don't own this filter but I see from the instructions that there are 2 possible problems to look at. One, the pre-filter flap is soiled and not closing properly. Second, the prefilter must be empty of water when using the primer button.

Have you cleaned the hoses with a brush? Occasionally debris gets lodged in the hose connections to the barb fittings.

If you're getting air in the line, check the hose connections for tightness.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
