Here's another question
Can I add a Biowheel to my eheim Pro 2026? I would like to slow down the surface agitation. The spray bar on my filter if put below the water surface seems to do nothing (no agitation) otherwise it really moves the water. But if I put very many fish in my tank, won't I need to have the surface moving for more gas exchange.

I've always just put stuff in and left it alone..now I'm thinking about it too hard!

Yes, you could use a Biowheel, but why bother? Your last sentence said it perfectly. :)

Gas exchange is needed in any tank. In some situations in planted tanks, you may want to decrease surface movement, but it's always safer to have some of it. But it doesn't need to be significant (like boiling water, Niagara Falls, etc.).

Yeah. I have the Eheim that you have, and it works great. It's meant for 92 US Gallons tops, so as long as you don't have an 85 gallon tank, I wouldn't mess with it.
