I'm going to order a filter for my 29g soon-to-be planted tank.

The three I'm looking into are the Eheim Classic 2213, Marineland C-160, and the RENA Filstar XP 1.

I just want to hear what you guys use, your experiences with any of these particular filters or each companies products.

Any pros or cons - anything at all!

Thank you in advance,

Jon

I haven't used the specific models you're looking at but I've used Eheim canisters before, the Pro II series, and love them. The Pro II series are easy to take apart for maintenance and pretty much silent, I have one running in the bedroom and can't hear it even when it's dead quiet.

I just set up a Rena Filstar XP2 for my 28 gallon and love it. It's very easy to put together and almost completely silent.

I think a single canister for a 29 is all you need. If you want the redundancy for an unexpected emergency, run a HOB with it.

For me, it would be the C-160.
