Electric blue crayfish/procambarus alleni question...

I am getting an Electric blue crayfish about 2 inches big at the time of purchase. I have been searching for specific info but cannot find it. Also it is a bit confusing because I have found equal posts about whether a crayfish can be with fish or not. Some swear he will take them all out, some swear he will not be fast enough to catch them. Once again I am getting the Procambarus and not the Cherax as I understand there is a difference, my question is however the compatibility between them and Discus fish. Also if you have time feel free to comment on other prospective tankmates in a 40 gallon tank. Another albino crayfish (just 1), possibly not all, don't want you to think I am crowding: mollies, african dwarf frogs, japonica or amano shrimp... Just want to know how they are with blue crayfish, I want him the most! Just got a tank for free from mom so I saved about $500 for the setup, any answers appreciated!

My boyfriend has one, and it's kept in a species only tank because it destroys plants by mowing them down, digs large pits in the substrate down to the glass, is an escape artist that has been found outside of the tank at least twice, and doesn't play well with others. It's an attractive invertebrate, but isn't particularly active or interesting to watch in my opinion.

I have a Cherax, which as mentioned is different. I used to keep her with guppies until recently. She's finally become large enough to grab them but she hasn't actually caught any. Just took out chunks of their tails. Didn't want to see fish suffering so I moved them to another tank.

I've read that heaters and crayfish are a bad idea so anything you keep needs to be ok unheated. Something cheap, small and quick is my suggestion.

All plants will be destroyed and eaten. Mine even chewed bits of the plastic plant making annoying floating messes.

Feed a varied diet with a lot of veggies. Mine likes algae wafers, shrimp pellets, carrots and zucchini. She gets pest snails as a treat and she loves them too.

I kept a pair of P. alleni in a 29 gal community tank with Corys which bred in the tank. They definitely dig and uproot plants but if you find an alleni eating a fish it probably found it dead.
