This catfish has killed Barbs and other small fish with its electrical shock. It has shocked larger fish including Datnoids and Pike Cichlids, causing no damage. When larger, it will shock to kill, regardless of the size of tankmates.
Warning: Electric Catfish should not be kept with anything smaller than them. Even larger fish will eventually be killed when the catfish grows. Perhaps large surface dwellers would work, but perhaps not. It is highly recommended this fish is kept alone.
