Emerald dwarf rasbora & Celestial pearl danio

Anyone keep Emerald dwarf rasbora (Microrasbora erythromicron) and Celestial pearl danio together? I have read that they might cross breed... anyone one know this to be true for a fact?

I'm thinking of adding 20+ to my 40+ CPDs. But first I want to make sure they get along and won't crossbreed.

Since CPDs are technically a Danio sp. at the moment, I would doubt they could cross with a microrasbora sp. However, it seems like some papers claim that Microrasbora erythromicron is actually D. erythromicron based on morphology so perhaps it is possible :huh:

Personally, I wouldn't risk it. And I agree with the above comments, we want pics.

I took this video 3 days ago (sorry for the bad quality) The water was really dark with tannins before I added the purigen.

The video won't show all 40+ but I will try and take another video when that water is more clear after the purigen kicks in fully. I'll drop some food and the frenzy should show most of them. To hard to take photos of them lol

That certainly does look like a cross of the two. I'm certain you could keep them together without issues, just don't plan on selling any fry.
