Emergency!

One of my oscars looks like it's intestine is coming out. It is DEFINITELY NOT poop. It's pink and fleshy looking and has been hanging from his anus for over a day. Short of taking the fish back to the pet store and throughing a fit is there anything I can do? Has anyone seen this before?

I've seen this before with one of my african cichlids.

Stop feeding and try adding dissolved epsom salt into the tank (about 1 tablespoon per 10-gal slowly over a 24hr hour period).

I'd remove him to a quarenteen and treat him for that........

Thanks everbody. I moved him to a small tank that day, and this morning he's all better and back to beggin like normal. What can I do to prevent that from happening again?

I had a snake once that got a hemipenile prolapse. If you think intestines being stuck out of your body is bad, try crawling on your belly with your.....well you get the picture.
