Just got some Endler's today in my 29 gal - such cute little things! The girls are already checking out the moss and guppy grass, the little guys following them around ... Meanwhile my one lone male guppy completely ignores the Endler's girls that he might actually have a chance with and continues to bug my one lone girl platy, showing off his macho little manliness to her. :hearts:  :shakehead:

Anyway, they are such sweet little fish now I'm thinking of setting up a small kitchen counter tank just for them. Would a 6 gal be alright for 6-8 Endler's? If I were to add a betta to the mix, would it be disasterous? Some cherry shrimp?

Thx!

Cherry shrimp should be okay; betta not so much. They're small enough and bright enough that it might really interest the betta and you might wake up to a floater.
Best to stick with one or the other.

I know cherry shrimp are cheap, but it still seems like expensive fish food to me.

At the very best......It's a huge gamble.

Maybe if you established a rcs colony before adding the endlers. I'm not an expert but it sounds like it would work to me. I plan on doing something similar with harliquins in a 6.6gal

in that case you would want alot of java moss/ guppy grass for cover. babies of both species will more than likely be eaten by adult endlers.
