I totally forgot to let people know this story.....
Last week one of my Bolivian rams started to swim differently to the others, a few days later when my lights went on he didn't move.... He stayed in the same spot apart from to defend his territory.
A few days past and I saw him poo so knew he was eating, I started to target feed him twice a day. Then one night he looked terrible and the other fish started to bully him. I got my breeding net out to give him a bit if a rest, I decided to wait until the morning to put him in.
When I woke up he was the most lively fish in the tank and had claimed a new territory, he also seemed to be the most dominant one.
Was he nursing an injury? Why so you think he was so weak etc and then back to his best?

Could have been either an injury or stress from the other fish. Did you do a water change before it picked up again? Sometimes a small water change does wonders.

No, it was around 3-4 days after a change that he picked up. Just glad that he is ok really :o)

nice recovery. My female acei had a pretty amazing recovery too. She was getting beatup and almost swimming upside down, so I put her in a breeding net. She swam upside down for three days, she wasn't eating, breathing hard. I was putting extra prime pretty much right on her everyday. I was getting ready to pull the plug, but then on the fourth day she was up right and a couple days later she started eating. After that it didn't take long for a full recovery, since then its been about 6 months
