Is it safe to use it as a sealant for things in an aquarium?? I think thats what its called anyway? What else could I use? Im looking for something to seal a really awesome peice of driftwood that I had to remove from my tank because peices were comeing apart like mad.
You need a "potable water epoxy" suitable for submersion...These paints are made for metal thought, and unless sealed 100 percent water will get into the wood and pop the coating off.....Also look at 80 bucks a gallon. The whole "kit" needs to be converted and is useless after it has started to cure...
I would buy a nice piece of malasian driftwood...Nice looking and doesnt leak tannins...
Rather expensive, especially in Canadian funds (they are over double!). I ended up getting the cheapest in Canadian funds, which was the Instant Ocean one (even though it's not the cheapest on the U.S. site). Trouble is, it's white and the 2 Little Fishes recommended to me would have been better because they're coloured, maybe would have been worth the extra money... oh, well.
I tried it out for the first time yesterday, starting to build my rock walls. It was super-easy, even somebody as inept as me could manage it. It has 2 colours rolled together, you cut off a piece and work it with your hands until it all changes to white. It is then softer than plastercine. It dries rock hard. Not the easiest to remove off your fingers after, though.
Edit…. I read wrong, I guess. I thought you wanted to re-attach broken off pieces. For sealing the whole thing, I guess the stuff I used wouldn’t work.
