Ever had a fish recover from dropsy

I myself have never had it in my tanks but most fish do not survive and if they do usally will have other problems. Make sure though if you do have a fish with it you remove it and put it in a QT as you don't want to make the other fish sick.

I had a black molly recover from dropsy, however he was just starting to show signs of it and I was already medicating. He was one of a couple fish who developed internal parasites (didn't quarantine a new fish, bad me :duh: ) of which only two showed the dropsy side-effect. I had started treatment when the first fish developed dropsy, the Molly was only just starting to show the typical bloating. I attribute the save to the fact he wasn’t far-gone yet at the time I started medication, the other fish w/dropsy did not make it.

Never give up

Ok i have had my Goldfish Pepper For 3 and a 1/2 years as soon as i put in a new fish oops no Quarintine ... they both got Dropsy and pop-eye

I was thinking she was prego (pregnant) fo r a half year when it started She soon got fin rot and parasites .. She was sooooo ill i seriously thought she had gone .BUT i DID NOT give up

on thinking that i would soon have to replace the fish Pepper a girl i found out i bought a recommended book called Aquariums for dummies I went strait to the Disease and health probs. Septiscimia it was! Worse thsn dropsy by the way So i called my local petco store and told them the symptoms and what i thought he had they gave me 1medicine that cost 10 Bucks I added it in with all of the chemicals to my new fish tank ...

Pepper is doing... Fenominal Her pop-eye is almost gone Parsasites Gone Finrott Stopped ....now with dropsy one way you can tell if it is getting better is if your Fish starts Pooing a lot A Lot

Bottom line Never give up on something that can survive
hop i have been some help :)

What kinds of meds did you add and how did you add them? What other things did you do to your tank to help with the illness? The reason I ask is if someone else may have the same problems they may be able to do what you did and keep a fish from dieing. Thanks

My poor fish is going down fast. :( It now has fin rot and some of its fins are disintegrating. Also, as of yesterday it has little red streaks on its scales mostly below its lateral line. Today I noticed it has four little bubbles, two on each side. They are clear, thin and possibly filled with fluid. My fish is a survivor, so far.
