Okay my friend was moving here and I let her store some boxes in my apartment. Ever since then I have been seeing roaches. Man this sucks so bad. That is all besides the point.

My question is I need to bomb what shall I do with my tanks? I know I should turn the air pumps off and maybe cover them with something. What should I use to cover the tanks? Thanks.

The above is a good suggestion. Also run extra carbon in your filters, and add it (fresh carbon) immediately before using the bug stuff. To be on the extra safe side, change it again after 24 hours.

I am sorry for all these questions I am probably the biggest idiot. So do I run the filter while it is spraying? Put extra carbon in when I spray? Then take the carbon out and put new carbon in after 24 hours? Thaks guys I need all the help I can get.

I can't seem to locate my copy at the moment, but the latest issue of Aquarium Fish magazine addresses this very question in one of its columns this month. might be worth checking out.

basically, to clarify what I was saying, you want to have the tank covered and carbon in the filter while spraying and until the place has aired out. I'd give it 24 hours at least. Then, remove the cover and swap out the carbon for fresh. The carbon will help adsorb any stray pesticide.

Not spray

Get some boric acid type roach powder (99% boric acid). Very cheap, harmless to pets and people. Use a squirt bottle to puff a tiny amount into all cracks and crevices in the house. A nearly invisible layer is what you want. Drill into the wall to do this also if you can, then use painters putty and repaint to fill the tiny hole.
