I picked up a pair of small kribensis about a week ago. One of them has a problem with its eye. I missed this when I picked them up, and didn't bother returning the fish when I did since it wasn't worth the time over a $3 fish. The eye itself looks fine, however for lack of a better word (or a decent photo) it looks like a perfectly healthy eye is growing on top of a pink knotty/bulbous growth. Any idea what this is or what to do about it?
The closest I've been able to think of would be that may be pop eye, although it doesn't really seem quite right. Like I said the eye looks fine, it's the flesh underneath the eye that's growing abnormally. If I simply have a malformed fish that's really not a problem, but if this is something I can treat I should probably attempt to do so.
