F2 Dovii?

I hate to sound ignorant but I kinda am in this case. What is the difference between Dovii and F2 Dovii? Any info would greatly be appreciated.

An F2 is captive bred, two generations removed from the wild.

This designation is not always given, so just because a fish that you purchase does not have an F-number doesn't necessarily mean that it was not captive bred.
