I have a fully running pond system with 2 ponds connected by a waterfall type thing. The pump doesn't run in the winter. Each contains about 9 goldfish and comets which survive the winter with no problems. I have 2 goldfish in a tank which is really too small for them and want to move them to the pond-Idon't have room for a bigger tank. 1 is a regular goldfish which should be fine but the other is a fantail - would he be ok over the winter if the others are? (He's just a regular fantail, not a veiltail or oranda or anything). Winter temp is about 1.5 - 8C.

Thanks

from what I've heard/read, fancy and fantail golds should'nt be with comets or any other golds because of feeding reasons (fancies are slow), but since this combo is already working, it should'nt be a problem in the pond. Other than that, I see no reason why it wouldn't survive the winter outdoors.
