I was doing a water change on one of my tanks that has a bio-wheel filter on it. As per the norm, I put the biowheels into the tank to float around and stay wet while I was changing the water. After completing the WC, I grabbed the biowheels out of the tank that they were floating in, and something ran across my hand and started to go up my forearm. It freaked the crap out of me, since at first I had no idea what it was and it felt like a large insect. Turns out it was my bamboo shrimp that had set up shop on the biowheels as they floated in the current on the top of the tank.
(we don't have the laughing smiley anymore)
Now I have a dumb fish story, heh.
