I recently bought a 45 gallon tank and I have 19 goldfish and a Pleco in the tank. I feed the goldfish regular food everyday PLUS algae tablets. I still don't have any algae growth for the pleco. Any suggestions or ideas? Let me know!

To successfully grow more algae in your tank I would leave the lights on 24/7, never clean the filter, and add 40-50 more goldfish!!!:D

No nitrates

About the time the tank is done cycling, you will get the first algae. You will likely lose about half of the goldfish by then. Maybe more.

I doubt it...ive had these goldfish for about 4 years. they started as tiny feeders and now they are pretty big (: and I have transferred them tank to tank quite a few times. They are pretty hearty little buggers!

I bet the ammonia is going through the roof, algae teblets probably decaying, so many goldfish... I would do like a 50% water change everyday so that the ammonia isn't unbearable.

You don't need algae for your pleco, you should feed it fresh vegetables, like spinach and zucchini, they are more healthy than algae, more nutrients.

to make algea grow faster, simply just buy some plant food, over dose a little. and leave the lights on for..a long time.
