how does everyone feed bettas in their community tank. mine's slower and a little stupider than my raboras and tetras, so i haven't seen him get food. i know he can eat plants and stuff, and he might get bloodworms that i don't see, but what do you do?

My betta is in a 10 gal with 4 small Corys - it is the Cory Cats that have to fight for food. The betta eats anything that comes his way - and he wants it first.

Try hand feeding it, but it should be fine.

My male red betta is a community tank with 19 neon tetras, 5 leopard danios, 6 swordtails and 3 clown loaches, it gets its food no problems.

This betta settled into my tank surprisingly quickly, now taking food from my tank and is doing extremely well.

Some of them are slower than others, they not fast swimmers, try dropping in too at several different spots rather than one, distract your fast fish with a little food and drop some more food in another spot closer to the betta.

I used to have a really calm female betta who didn't freak out when I approached her with the net - so I started doing this thing where I would "trap" her and feed her the betta pellets. Then I'd let her go and feed the rest of the fish. That way not only did she eat, but she always got the best food for her diet.

You might try that if you have a betta who isn't skittish.

yeah i might try that, distracting the other fish is also an option, i think i've tried that but i'll see what i can do.
i think he's still a little nervous or scared of me though
