Feeding cichlids koi food?

I was at my lfs buying some over priced cichlid food this weekend, i got chating to the guy there about how much my fish eat and how expensive food is.
Any way to cut a long story short he suggested feeding my cichlids koi food.
Before trying this on my fish i though it better to get other peoples opinion on this first. So if any of you have any thoughts on this it would be much appreciated.

We'll need to know what the guaranteed analysis is.:grinyes: Proteins, fiber, they matter. Perhaps the ingredients as well but your cichlids in your sig are omnivorous so usually no harm done.

I havn't bought any yet so i don't know what the analysis is, i could look when i go to the lfs this coming weekend.

I was hoping someone would tell me what to look for in the analysis and what ingerdients to watch out for, or if there is a brand of koi food that would be good for my cichlids.

I would buy whatever you buy at long and fosters (liveaquaria.com) my Father in law has 16 tanks and 12 of them are 55 gallon or larger. He has lots of cichlids and he would be broke if he didn't buy the large buckets of fish food. .

Thanks, but as i live in the uk by the time i have paid for shipping it's no cheaper than buying it from the lfs near me.

Do you know the brand of koi food? Perhaps a search on it will get you the analysis.
